WA:WA government releases mid-year review

The West Australian government will record an estimated 209 million dollar surplus,
making it the nation's highest surplus for 2011-12.

Treasurer CHRISTIAN PORTER says the projected surplus is significantly lower than the
442 million dollars forecast at budget time.

The figure was released today as part of the government's mid-year review.

Mr PORTER says risks to the global economic outlook have intensified significantly
since the May state budget.
