Ice rink to shut while council saves for repairs

An Ice rink will be shut for 18 months - so council bosses cansave enough money to carry out repairs.

The Linx Ice Arena at the beach could shut its doors as early asApril 1 as Aberdeen City Council prepares to give it a revamp.

But the Evening Express can reveal it is only being closed sothe council can find the money to carry out the repairs.

The authority has pledged to spend pounds1 million onimprovements to the centre.

With pounds655,000 being spent on two new condensers and therest going on various other works including replacing thebarriers.
