Fed: Beazley tells Caucus to get behind Rudd

KIM BEAZLEY's urged his Labor Party colleagues to get in behind KEVIN RUDD and support
his leadership.

After losing this morning's caucus vote 39 votes to Mr RUDD's 49 .. he's told a news
conference he wanted to stay and finish the job .. but it wasn't to be.

He says Mr RUDD's a very able and intelligent man with a very wide breadth of knowledge
and an absolute determination to do the right thing for the Australian people.

Mr BEAZLEY says his successor will take the Labor party to victory at the next election
